Letter From President

Hello ASID San Diego Members and Happy 2018!

A new year and a new quarter are now under way. Because we know "Design Impacts Lives" in our homes, our careers and in our communities - our first showcase house in 16 years is a wonderful way to promote how design works

Our first meeting this quarter will be the "Empty House" party Saturday, Jan. 20th. If you haven't already purchased your tickets, please do so after you finish reading this message. Just go to our website casd.asid.org. If your schedule doesn't allow you to participate, perhaps two tickets gifted to your favorite client would support ASID SD and your business! It'll be a "before" look during a relaxed, fun afternoon.

By now you probably know Rady Children's Hospital is part of our team and will be beneficiary of the event, so tickets are also tax deductible or were in 2017.

Opportunities to help with our showcase house will continue to grow as committees expand and construction starts later this month.

While our website continues to be tweaked so it's more relevant to local happenings, and we've had success in getting information out in a timely manner, there are still members who report not receiving weekly e-News and dedicated blasts.

Please help if someone tells you they are missing out. Suggestions: check "junk" mail, subscribe, update one's profile, contact ASID HQ, me and/or Tamalyn K. Shea, Director of Communications.

Mail Chimp has our current membership roster, yet issues persist. Since you're reading this, you're probably in the loop! Thank you for your assistance!

Another way we'll be reaching out is through the US postal system! You'll be receiving a "calendar" of events and more information. It's always a good idea check our website for upcoming programs.

Please "share" and "like" any and all of our events, especially those directly supporting charities - we're working toward having a minimum of one project per quarter. Two were completed already - a crew took part at a Habitat for Humanity work day, and donations from our Holiday Party were given to Humble Design.

Details for a project to benefit San Diego Children's Center will be finalized this quarter. Please watch for specifics and how you may help.

We're pleased to announce what's on the agenda for February's general meeting on Wed., 21st.

Pedini San Diego will be hosting! Their showroom has several new displays of some of the greatest cabinetry on the market.

A recipient for the Deborah Thomas student award will be presented, so we anticipate a good student turn out. Please give them a warm welcome.

.Neil Senturia, author and San Diego Union Tribune columnist of "I'm There for You Baby", will be our guest speaker. He'll inspire and entertain during the educational part of the program.

Details for March's general meeting (Wed., 21st) are still being developed, yet we're excited Gensler has agreed to host!

Wow, then we're half way through our society's year!

Please be active by attending meetings, volunteering to serve on committees, agreeing to serve on the next board and providing feedback.  Hopefully you'll contribute and be engaged in helping make this a memorable and beneficial year for everyone.

Onward,

Reba
