The Steering committee is proud to announce the location for the 2018 San Diego Chapter ASID Designer Showcase to be held in May. The 5,400 sq.ft home at 1901 Monterey Avenue in Coronado is a stately, Georgian Colonial designed and built in 1929 by Ione Gilfillan Brown.
The talented interior designers from our Chapter have an opportunity to transform this grand home into a contemporary masterpiece while retaining key historic elements. The house – which was the Historical Society’s Showcase House in 2002 - has features the homeowner would like to preserve and he looks forward to remodeling the kitchen and baths. There are 20 design spaces that include a bedroom and ½ bath and powder room on the first floor, 4 bedrooms and 3 baths on the second floor, and an apartment over the garage with a separate bedroom, bath and darling kitchenette. The extensive property is near the golf course on one of the largest lots in the neighborhood! (12,600 Square Feet)
There is tremendous remodeling potential in this historically interesting property. We’re excited to see the unveiling of your design style in a space of your choice. The showcase will be presented in partnership with the Rady’s Children’s Hospital Auxiliary.
