ASID San Diego, along with the local student chapters would like to send out a HUGE thank you to the sponsors of the Student Career Day that happened Saturday April 8th at Illuminating Interiors. It was a huge success and we could not have done it without our amazing sponsors. Check out the pics below for a sneak peak at what you may have missed.
Nestled in the picturesque neighborhood of Brooklyn Heights is the townhouse of luxury and high-end ASID Interior Designer Kathryn Scott. Here the Emerging Designer Events series took a group of 20 students and emerging professionals for a tour of her serene residence. The breathtaking interiors were captivating and harmonious leaving no detail unattended.
Wednesday, March 22nd the Emerging Designer Events series traveled to its first, and truly one of a kind children's furniture manufacturer and vintage collector. Kinder Modern's curb appeal may be their kid-sized iconic furniture pieces but there was more than meets the eye at the Gallery. Founder, Lora Appleton, gave the group a first-hand look at their vintage collection, their manufactured collection, Studio Kinder and their newest rug collection, Kinder Ground.
The group was blown away how high design could be practiced in such tiny examples. Having spent years in search of the finest examples of children's furniture, Appleton has acquired quite the eye for emerging talent and worthy vintage finds that will last her clients a lifetime. It's both quality and quantity at the Kinder Modern Gallery and the ASID New York Metro group really embraced their direction.
