Showroom/remodeler Sales Executive for Orange County

Under the direction of a Branch Sales Manager responsible for planning, scheduling, conducting and evaluating all field sales activities within an assigned territory. Directly own Key Decision Maker sales relationships within territory and responsible for executing product, channel and program sales initiatives at the field level. Promote and service Kohler Co. plumbing products through showrooms to builders, plumbers, contractors, other specifiers and users in accordance with established company goals, policies, and procedures. Prepares annual sales forecast. Will be assigned special assignments and projects by Branch Managers. Channel focus may vary based on strategic sales goals and opportunities within the market as defined by the Branch and Business Development management teams.

Specific Responsibilites:

  • Establish and maintain regular contact with showroom accounts in assigned territory to introduce and promote the sale of Kohler Co. plumbing products in accordance with company goals and policies.

  • Provide guidance and review the activities of showroom sales personnel; provide training and assist in resolving specific questions or problems related to selling efforts or technical issues.

  • Establish and maintain regular contact with remodeling contractors, general contractors, builders, architects, plumbers and designers to inform them of the advantages of using Kohler Co. plumbing products and to motivate them towards specifying Kohler Co. plumbing products for their customers.

  • Analyze and evaluate assigned accounts regarding sales trends and potentials, competition, economic/business conditions, and performance; recommend changes in sales programs and customers to make territory more effective in meeting sales volume quotas.

  • Develop annual Distributor Account Plan with each account to determine marketing, sales, training, showroom, promotional and advertising plans for following year.

  • Work in conjunction with Kohler sales team consisting of other Sales Execs, Branch Managers and Business Development Managers. Also work closely with sales, marketing and customer service departments in Kohler.

  • Conduct account warehouse and on-site consumer inspections as required; service account and customer complaints regarding product quality, installation or performance.

  • Attend and participate in Company sales meetings and trade or industry meetings, shows and conventions to increase knowledge of Kohler Co. plumbing products, improve selling techniques and cultivate good working relationships with accounts and product users.

  • Owns all channels including distribution within assigned geography.

  • As directed by the Branch Sales Manager, responsible for multiple channels or specific market segments within assigned geography and corresponding channel activities.

  • Prepare various correspondence, reports and forms related to daily activities, expenses, claims, etc.

  • Manage pricing programs in territory according to established company policies and procedures

Skills/Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in Sales, Business Administration or Marketing.
  • 2+ years of outside sales experience required. 
  • Must possess moderate skills in written and oral communication with all levels of management and with outside contacts.

Travel:

  • Additional travel to trade shows, manufacturing plants, and customer visits as needed, approximately 10 - 30%.

Job Description Summary:

Support company sales objectives in the San Diego region by identifying, influencing, and obtaining product specifications.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Identify the top commercial based architectural firms in the territory who are engaged in specifying surfacing products for key and targeted projects.

  • Contact decision-makers at target Architectural and Design Firms to discuss current projects during the design and pre-bid phases to ensure that our products are specified and remain in the most desirable position.
  • Demand Creation - Isolate potential project opportunities and follow up on project leads generated from e.g. manufacture and distributor’s website, Commercial Tracker (Salesforce), etc.

Track commercial projects from time of specification through to purchase and installation.

  • Provide timely communications on project status and stages to other members of the commercial Team and the Sales Manager to ensure product availability.
  • Continually update project information within internal systems to ensure that all pertinent information regarding the project and its progress is captured. Close the opportunity once won/ lost or abandoned.

Provide product support and customer service to the A&D community.

  • Build relationships with the architects and designers and establish reputation as an industry expert in represented product lines.
  • Continuously update and maintain the A&D database.
  • Maintain architectural libraries in a clean well-organized manner physically replacing outdated sample tools. Place new products as soon as they are available, making sure that our products have sufficient shelf space and product placement in key firms to ensure easy access by designers.
  • Provide timely response to all questions including technical information, product costs, product availability, etc...
  • Set proper expectations for product performance and application considerations per industry standards and guidelines.
  • Process sample requests in a timely manner and follow up on requests as part of project tracking.
  • Schedule and conduct continuing education presentations as well as general product knowledge presentations

Develop in-depth knowledge and expertise about all products.

Attend vendor product trainings, workshops.

Participate in required local events such as Industry Association Meetings, New Product Launches, Special Events, and Product Blitzes and/or Trade Shows, etc.

Previous sales experience (min 1-3 years) in the architectural/design/construction industries is preferred.

TRAVEL:

Ability to travel daily within designated sales territory

Candidates will use their own vehicle on the road visiting clients and be compensated monthly with a generous automotive allowance to cover fuel and other vehicle expenses.

Overnight travel is not necessary to maintain most accounts but may be be required throughout the year for company events, tradeshows, sales meetings, etc

Lars Remodeling & Design, celebrating 30 years as San Diego’s premier design+build home remodeling company, is looking for an Interior Designer to join their growing team.
As Interior Designer, the candidate for this position will define the Scope of Work through assessment of the client’s needs, requirements, and design/décor style. Provide design expertise and recommendations to clients including concept development, field measurements, space planning, generating visual plan layouts, and sourcing products, materials, and accessories.

Must live in the San Diego area to be considered - No telecommuting.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Prepare for all internal and client meetings with status and Agendas as necessary to communicate project status.
• Attend all internal project meetings including, but not limited to: Debrief, Team, and End of Design (EOD).
• Attend all onsite and offsite client meetings including, but not limited to: Discovery, Design Selections, Design Review (DR), Selections meetings, Pre-Construction, Cabinet Sign-off, Electrical Walk, Countertop Sign-off, and Closing meeting.
• Full understanding of Lars process and meeting project deadlines.
• Attend project photo shoots and assist with staging when necessary.
• Performs additional duties assigned by the Director of Design or other supervisory position that serves our clients and benefits the company.
• Maintain a high level of current product knowledge in the marketplace.
• Provide a written summary of the Discovery and or Design Selection meeting findings to the Design Team prior to the Debrief meeting.
• Analyzing client’s needs and specifications to make sure the project is finished in accordance with the timeline and budget.

• Coordinate with the Project Managers and trade partners to ensure a smooth build process.
• Read, interpret, review, and make corrections to finished plans (ID Set) as needed.
• Ensure all Allowance costs have been sourced and uploaded into the selections management software for approval and client viewing.
• Ensure all selections are approved in selections management software prior to the EOD meeting.
• Research products and materials as needed to support the design team on technical issues influencing concept development.
• Understand product cost and how they affect the project budget
• Ensure follow-up with clients is completed on a regular basis.
• Perform moderate tasks without supervision or difficult tasks with supervision.
• Build relationships with clients and knowing to read the different personalities presented.
• Corresponds with clients in a proactive manner to ensure they remain fully informed and up to date.
• Submit weekly project updates to the Director of Design or Senior Interior Designer.

Designer criteria:

  • · Create 3D models and renderings for Design Development and Interior Design phase.
  • · Assist in creating Change Orders as homeowners make changes during Interior Design phase.
